Screen saver power management.

Is there a way of configuring the lock screen program to run a screen saver that goes into power saving mode when running under Linux?

Under the Redhat desktop icon in Gnome, you canclick on Preferences/Screensaver, and under Advanced in that menu you can turn power management on, and set the number of minutes before it goes into standby mode, and into suspend mode.
