CS Department's FAQ Knowledgebase .: Computing Information .: Windows (MS) .: My H: drive is missing

My H: drive is missing

I keep losing my H: drive and my files that I have saved. Is there something I need to do?

The H: drive points to your home directory on the file server. It is still there, but sometimes the link gets broken. There are a couple of things you can try:

  • Log off and back on.

  • Try a different machine.

  • Try manually mapping the H: drive. On the Tools menu, choose Map Network Drive and enter H: for the Drive and Samba<your username> for the Folder.
