Is web-based SSH available?

Both 'york' and 'lectura' support SSH logons via a web interface using the AppGate SSH applet.  This Applet lets you make a secure connection to CS systems lectura and york with SSH.  Advanced features like port forwarding are disabled.  Note that AppGate is not meant as a fully functional substitute for a locally installed version of SSH. 

The AppGate Applet is a Java Applet version of AppGate Connect that is designed to be loaded from a web page via a web browser that supports Java. The Applet has zero footprint and does not require an installation on the user’s system. More documentation of this Applet may be found at the AppGate website.

Use is as with any web page that contains Java Applets, you simply access it:

http://lectura.cs.arizona.edu/ssh.html or http://york.cs.arizona.edu/ssh.html
