How much math do I have to take?

How much math is required for the CS major?

In order to graduate with a degree in Computer Science, students must complete two traditional math courses:
- Calculus I (MATH 124 or 125)
- Calculus II (MATH 129) or linear algebra (MATH 215)

There is one other math-based course that all students must complete for this degree: C SC 245 (Introduction to Discrete Structures).  Although this course is offered by the CS department it is, in essence, a math course.

In order to apply to admission to the CS major, students need to have completed only calc I, and either C SC 245 or calc II.  This is just a major admission requirement.  In order to actually graduate with the degree both C SC 245 and either calc II or linear algebra must be complete.
