Can I take linear algebra without taking calc II?

The schedule of classes says that calculus II is the prerequisite for linear algebra (MATH 215).  Can I take linear algebra without the calc II prereq?

It does seem odd that the CS department gives the option of taking either calc II or linear algebra to complete the major when, according to the course catalog, calc II is the prerequisite to linear.  This doesn’t seem like you have much of a choice.  However, the Math department has given special permission to computer science students to take linear algebra after having completed calc I and C SC 245.  Although this exception is not formally stated in the course catalog, it is an internal policy that is upheld by both departments.
