What types of jobs do CS graduates get, and how much money do they make?
A computer science degree can prepare you for a wide range of careers in industry, government, the non-profit sector, and education. Recent graduates of our B.S. program have accepted positions as software developers, programmers, consultants, software engineers, systems analyists, and web developers, just to name a few examples. Companies that have hired our graduates include Microsoft, Google, IBM, Raytheon, Lockheed Martin, Octopi, and the U of A.
Despite what you may have heard, the job market for Computer Science is strong. Employers of all types are now relying on computer scientists to enhance their services and keep them up to date with computing trends. It is expected that the demand for programmers will continue to grow. Average starting salaries for our recent graduates range from $60,000 - $70,000.
