CS Department's FAQ Knowledgebase .: Computing Information .: Email .: My email password does not work

My email password does not work

My Windows password does not work when I try to read CS email.

Email to cs.arizona.edu addresses for current CS students, faculty, and staff is redirected to email.arizona.edu mailboxes.

Email in your INBOX is stored on the email.arizona.edu server. Other folders, such as Trash and Sent, also exist on the email.arizona.edu server. You may have other mail folders on that server and some in your home directory.

Access to mail on email.arizona.edu is controlled by your NetID and password.

If you have configured your email client to reference mail folders in your CS home directory, access to these is controlled by your CS account and 'Unix' password (Note that in CS, you have two separate accounts -- one for Windows and one for Unix (e.g., lectura) ).

If you want to change your Unix account password, log on (SSH) to "lectura.cs.arizona.edu" and enter the command

/bin/passwd

See Password change questions for more information.
