I am changing my password. I have a some questions:
a) How do I change my Unix password?
b) How do I change my password on Windows XP?
c) How do I change my password on Samba (so I can use Samba to mount my directory on my Mac).
Use the /bin/passwd command for your Unix (Linux) accounts.
This program, when run on Lectura, will change the passwords on most student Linux machines: i.e., Lectura and all lab Linux machines -- but not Windows workstations (see below). Desktops assigned to individuals will also be affected by password changes made on Lectura.
The password file on the majority of CS Fedora Linux systems is continuously updated from the Lectura password file (approximately every 15 minutes). Do not change passwords directly on the Fedora Linux PC systems in GS228, GS930, or individually assigned desktops as the changed password will be overwritten by the Lectura password file!
Windows password changes are made by logging onto any CSC domain Windows workstation. Type CTRL-ALT-DEL, choose Change Password, and enter the new password. Your new password will then be known to all other Windows workstations in the CSC domain.
Students can change their passwords back to the initial default password using the Online Services web page. See:

The Samba server will use your Windows password.
